'Aching,' Northern Rwanda
This child watched through a broken window as we worked inside. It’s times like this when the natural, uncontrived symbolism of circumstance just presents itself to you and all you have to do is click. There was not pretence, no staging, no crap. Just reality. It still engages me now. Look at his eyes. What is he thinking? He’s aching. He is full on aching.
How can I help them more, how can I help them more, how can I help them more…
Please give if you can or pass it on to someone else. That’s giving too.
All proceeds to charity.
Available for sale as Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints

Wow. Melinda your work is inspirational. Im currently doing a series of drawings and paintings on social and political issues in third world countries, I could only hope that they might come anywhere near the level of power your images have. Just beautiful, all of them.

This is great. I remember being followed by kids in Rwanda, many saying that they needed money for school. I was never quite sure of wether to believe all of them or not, but it did seem to be a very hand-to-mouth existence. You’ve captured that hopeful hopelessness I so often saw beautifully.
