An Invitation
For the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo…
These are the words:
AN INVITATION.
It is human nature to be
overwhelmed by the inequality
so apparent in todays world.
Few people have never
wondered why it is they have so
much and others so little.
This confusion and concern
provides hope for the people
of D.R. Congo. Because it is
this troubling realisation
which encourages us to act;
to make a donation, to say a
prayer, or to purchase a gift.
HEAL Africa lives on the front
line for us, so we may contribute
what we can, when we can,
confident we’ve made a
difference. You can never give
too little. Love has a happy
way of multiplying.

what a touching photo. You in South Africa or where? These children are so beautiful. I remember when I went that I had never been hugged so much. He is precious and you caught such a perfect portrait of this wonderful child. I am for sure going to buy some my friend for Christmas presents to heal Africa. They are in dire need I know for sure.

Actually I should point out this little fella is covered from ankles to the top of his chest in plaster. Probably polio.

Thanks Duro, I’ll be writing a journal thread about it :)

Melinda,
I went and checked out the calendar and it says it shows US Holidays and events..Is there a way to get Aus Hol’s instead of US? I went into the customise calendar bit but got lost…
Thanks in advance.
skunk
Oops Sorry Melinda,
I was meant to say in above Post that this is a fab idea and hope this organisation makes bucket loads of cash!
Melinda Kerr
Just so you all know, if you want to get rid of the US holidays you do this>
Go to the calendar>
Click the customise it button>
Click the calendar options tab>
Click where it says Date and style options edit>
And then uncheck the show US holidays and event button.

Melinda,
This child has captured my heart. I feel as if his eyes touch my soul. He’s beautiful.
I actually ordered this photo last night for a friend who spent a couple of years (after college) in the Congo. My friend is a psychology professor at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida and when ever he speaks of Africa, he refers to the Congolese as his brothers and sisters. I have no doubt it will bring a tear or two, but he will LOVE it…for his heart belongs to the Congo. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world.

Melinda,
PS) Is there was any way the heading of “December” could be removed? I’m not sure how to get in touch (quickly) so I hope this reaches you in time.
Thanks Again,
Christi
Melinda Kerr replied
hi chris I was wondering who bought it. Thanks so much. It’s night time here but I will try to take the December off in the morning and re upload it. You could probably email red bubble & ask them to not process the job for another 24 hours?? Then I’ll have time to swap it over. Peter (CEO) lives in the states now so you could bubblemail him now or email?

Hi Melinda,
Thank you for the quick response. I was the one who purchased the calendar. It took a couple of days to pick which one. There were certain pictures from all three choices that really resonated with me. It was really hard. I still might have to order “colours.”
Anyway, thank you again for the great work. I’ll try to get in touch with Red Bubble to have them hold the order for a day.

Sorry, I’m losing my mind. I purchased the photo “An Invitation” as well as the “HEAL Africa” calendar as Christmas gifts for my friend who spent time (late 70”s, early 80’s) in the Congo.
