Artist's Description

A graceful stem of Cutting grass (Gahnia grandis) serves as a perch for a pair of Scarlet Robins (Petroica multicolor ), as they pause their characteristic flitting movements. The males’ bright chest resplendent in the afternoon sun.
Once a common sight, Robins of all species in Tasmania are getting more difficult to find. Changes in climate, land-use and predominantly the increase in the feral cat numbers are impacting on the Robins.
