The Dinner Tree by Mel Brackstone

From my visit with Mieke Boynton in August 2011. Robyn Lakeman and I had a fabulous time seeing and shooting with Western Australia’s most fabulous female photographer. :)

Canon 5D Mk II….shot in the middle of the day, as evidenced by the harsh shadows….

I love this too Mel. I love the branch reflections on the ground, they look like the ground is opening due to drought ;)

  • Thanks so much Beth!

Those “harsh shadows” are working well in this instance, and with your other “jiggery pokery”, to give this image a fab 3D look :-)

  • Hey thanks Sophia, I do love to play with the photos in my graphics program. :)

Super painterly treatment here, remarkable they survive in such harsh conditions.

  • Cheers John, they sure are tough customers!

whatever you did here, the result is outstanding – the background, the light on the branches, the harsh shadows on the ground … excellent !

  • Thanks Carol! It was a very stark scene!
