Wow, it seems like forever since I last heard frogs croaking….we’ve had a couple of days of rain here, and all of a sudden, they’re out and about…..gotta love the sub-tropics!!
soz, I’m excited!
and I’m also looking for ways to be distracted from doing the taxes…..

Rosemary Scott
I love that sound!!! Haven’t heard it since I moved away from Darwin….
Mel Brackstone replied
You can hear them here
Gotta love the people who take the time to set up a frog database :)
Soxy Fleming
listening to frog croakings is way more important than doing taxes!
Mel Brackstone replied
Absolutely!
Rhana Griffin
I’m sure I heard once upon a time that frogs are a health indicator of a garden. Sounds like whatever you are doing in your garden you are doing it right Mel!
Mel Brackstone replied
hmmm….I guess you’re right, Rhana, we’ve always had frogs here, it just seems like a long time since I heard them, because it’s been so dry. They do love my pitcher plants though :)
Lisa Jewell
LOL anything to distract from the taxes,
I seriously laughed out loud….
I’ve forgotten the sound of a frog croak – that is terrible…ummmmmm ma I’m going to have to go in search of a pond or some such frog holder…
Mel Brackstone replied
This is what I’m hearing…..
Mel Brackstone replied
and yes, I’m always looking for ways to distract me from doing the books :)

Lol, since we moved into this house in 2000, we can hear frogs most nights as there’s a creek across the road. Glad you can hear them, Mel, it’s a great sound especially if there’s more than one species in residence.
Mel Brackstone replied
I just loathe Mondays….at least the frogs can give me something to smile about :)
PJ Ryan
it’s fabulous isn’t it .. we have lots of frogs on our property and around the creek nearby, we hear them every night and most early mornings. enjoy x
Mel Brackstone replied
They’re pretty much seasonal here, we’re on a dry ridge….but it’s always nice to hear them when there’s a bit of rain around :)
cosimopiro
Bloody taxes….I was wondering what that nagging noise was in the background….much prefer frogs.
Mel Brackstone replied
Bloody taxes…..
TextureoftheSin
come visit – our frogs are having a lovely time :)
Mel Brackstone replied
Is it raining there too?
TextureoftheSin
It often rains here. We have very happy frogs :)
Mel Brackstone replied
You certainly live in a virtual paradise. I’ll listen for the frogs when I visit next month :)
Craig Harris
Thats excellent Mel, just so long as they are the only ones doing it!!!
Mel Brackstone replied
ha! I agree!
TextureoftheSin
Love that link to the frog calls! So does Miss S ;)
Mel Brackstone replied
tell her they’re not edible, won’t you :)
Matt Penfold
Yeah go listen to the frogs Mel, don’t they say that the only two certainties are croaking and taxes? ;-)
Mel Brackstone replied
I can always rely on you to make me grin….thanks Matt :)
Your parcel in in the mail :)
Rosemary Scott
hehehe…. that sounds great! I need to encourage the frogs into our place I think :))
Mel Brackstone replied
They love those waterwell pots….don’t even know if they’re available anymore, since they probably also provide a home for mossies….but here, we have frogs in nearly every one….
Simone Byrne
Frogs croaking = Ahhhhhhhh Taxes = Grrrrrrrrr Therefore go the frogs I say!!! ;)) Enjoy Mel :))
Mel Brackstone replied
Indeed! At least I’ve done the books for this week now….time to listen again :)
