Big wheel

More bendy lens work….soz, I’m a bit obsessed at the mo

Canon 5D Mk II, bendy lens.

What makes me laugh about this is it looks like someone was in the second from bottom car taking a photo, and the flash has gone off….they’ll have a wonderful image of the inside of that car…

I am not commenting this because you were so kind to comment on my Sticks… and make me laugh. In fact I did not even know this piece was yours but when seeing the thumb nail that was favored I had to had to study it. This is an amazing piece of photographic art. Your perspective effects, use of B&W makes this an extraordinary statement. I really do love this piece.

Really neat effect, almost looks like you smeared vaseline on the lens. Just attended a lecture by a well known Canadian photographer and he actually did that for a look for an image! I like the composition on this one with the wheel cutting across the cityline. And the effect of the lens and the choice of b & w definitely give it a nostalgic feel!

  • Mel Brackstone replied 28 days ago

Wow, vaseline must be a tough thing to get off, even if you only use it on a UV filter….I’ve heard of it being done….but I’m so messy and clumsy I reckon I’d get it everywhere….lol! Thanks for your lovely comment :)

He smeared it on a very old filter and then kept it that way I guess for further effects down the road. Yep, not a method I will be likely to try!!!! But I thought of it as soon as I saw your image, I love how the bendy lens diffuses the light and softens all the angles.

  • Mel Brackstone replied 28 days ago

I love the way the lens diffuses the light and softens things too, slightly different to a lensbaby, but still exciting to do :)
