Love those shoes!!
Love the opulence suggested by the colours and hues and background.
Fabulous concept and treatment.
Oh crap, lets just say I love it and be done :)
Mel Brackstone replied
Thanks so much TOTS, the opulence from the red velvet, ostrich feathers and other props really is enhanced by the lens, there’s no doubt about it….it’s all come together so well! Miss Bertie sourced the velvet from an old theatre somewhere….so it’s even authentic!

The uniting of two great talents is always fasinating…........beautiful Mel
Mel Brackstone replied
Cast of thousands here matey, from the guys who made the lenses, hubby who made the studio, and then down to Bertie and me….we’re all very lucky to have found a way to get it all together :) Cheers Ade :)

sandra
Mel Brackstone replied
Bertie has a look that makes this style of image work well, there’s no doubt about it, plus her wardrobe and props add that extra zing. Thanks Sandra!
DanikaL
Oh and my 400D and I have MAJOR camera-envy for your 5D MkII right now :)

wonderful series mel… i love when art can transport us to another era… and these do just that…... they have that “follies” feel to them….... brilliant work…....b
Mel Brackstone replied
Bertie is a burlesque performer, so she’s perfect for this kind of imaging, I think….she just has the look down perfectly! Thanks b, always good to see you :)
Rosemary Scott
This is gorgeous! And Miss Bertie is so stunning….. but these beautiful pale legs remind me of those belonging to another “Miss” of the muppet variety….. I think it’s the shoes :))
Mel Brackstone replied
Thanks Rosemary, I’m a long way off remembering muppets, and with no grandkids on the horizon I suspect it’ll be a long time till I see any!
Cordelia
I just love this Mel. In fact both your ‘red shoe’ shots this weekend have been gorgeous.

Mel Brackstone replied

Denzil
Gorgeous! And the whole loupy story is fascinating – regrettably way beyond my mental capacity, but I love reading about what OTHER people can do!!!
Mel Brackstone replied
Oh I know exactly what you mean, I know nothing about the technical details, but am constantly challenged by trying new things, and playing with hardware is one of those new things. I bought a couple of hand-made lenses that I had trouble with, spoke to Matt about them, sent one to him, and he changed it to one I COULD use! Automagically changing my problem lens into a usable piece of equipment…..aint the bub grand :)
kipishiux
