Traps
These tank traps were placed along the length of Stockton Bight during WW II. I shot this in Oct 2004, a week after I received my first DSLR….I believe they’re mostly all buried now…
Canon 20D, 15mm fisheye, f/14, 1/800”, iso 400…..oops

There’s heaps of these still in the Nelson Bay area in NSW – haven’t managed to get one quite as well composed as yours! Excellent processing and love the figures which help to give it a sense of scale. You’ve created a real ‘desert’ scene out of this!
Alf Caruana

Lovely detail Mel. Your first dslr was a 20D and a fisheye! Nice one. like the iso too. lol. John
Mel Brackstone replied
I’d been using a Canon G2, but watching the work of a lady who made a fisheye sing…..so I ordered the 20D with a 15mm fisheye and the 28-135mm…..without having a clue how to use any of it! Loved that fisheye on the 20D though :) ISO was because I’d been shooting inside the tourist information centre….and forgot to change it back..

A well captured shot of a fast disappearing piece of history. Was there mid last year, and only 16 remain out of 10,000. By now the last two might be lost as only about 3 inches were showing when I was there.
