Not only a great picture but, how interesting! Having judged that area for the Keep Australia Beautiful Clean Beach Challenge twice, now, I am surprised that I knew nothing of this. (The wreck I’d been taken to, in the 70s.).

Thanks for your comment, Ozcloggie. I expect that you’ll have fun trying to find them. It is a very long length of beach and dune area, and even with google earth its very hard to find them. I found a GPS reading online for them once, but couldn’t see the traps when I followed the directions. The tour companies seem to know where they are though…..

Incredible, strange beauty in something set up in a war zone. Amazing light , shadows, and subtle color. I like the patterns in the sand between the cones.

wow, amazing shadows, colours and composition.
The strangest thing about these is how they never had to stop a tank…
They become permanent statues to the people who fought to stop these having to be used, untouched…
