I never did get around to posting all my autumn shots….so here’s another one…there’s a huge group of photogs all massed across the other side, trying to jostle for position on shifting reed beds and yuckky mud, and further across there’s a couple more. I gave up waiting over that side, and moved to the western edge to see what I could see…..now you can see what I could see :)
This was processed in NZ with photomatix, back when I was probably a little overwhelmed by the colour….I might reprocess it and see if I like it better with my newer techniques

What a breathtaking shot Mel. The way the sun has caught that textured cloud in that golden and pink hued light is amazing enough, but then the way the lake picks up the reflection is just incredible. The framing of the lake with the bank and trees (especially on the vertical edges) really assist in doing this masterpiece major justice.

It’s beautiful as is, Mel – personally, I wouldn’t change a thing. The sunset has gorgeous colours and it’s beautifully pointed to by the tree. The reflection on the glass-smooth water of the lake are perfect. Fabulous shot.

Beautiful—hard to imagine how it could be improved with newer techniques, other than removing those people; actually I like the first solo dark figure, as there’s a kind of “ghostly” quality that’s appealing and evocative. Congrats on such a great image.
