And I look upon her, beautiful
She is.
Her body wet and glistening, perfumed
She is.
With fragrant oils, smoothe
She is.
And soft her skin, yet strong like bronze
She is.
Oh, lead me not into temptation!

Her sweet heady scent intoxicates;
Jasmine, Patchouli and Musk Rose
Rise on the midnight breeze. For
She is.
I close my eyes and breathe in her essence.
Her dulcet voice hums a lament,
And though Gods’ heart be for me,
My heart be for her. For
She is.
I am King David of all Israel and Judah.
And as I stand here on my Palace veranda
I wonder if she is aware of my presence.
And if so, how dare she tempt me! For
She is.
Stars fill the night sky in the moonlit blue.
Her delicate hand caresses her sensual shoulder,
She loves and cares for her beautiful body;
As a priest worships at the altar of his God. For
She is.
Yet this woman belongs to another. Damnation!

There is a chill in the air, cold

A black cloud has descended, brooding
I am.
The bright white moon is over-shadowed, shrouded

My thoughts have turned in on me, decided

I have become a man with murder on his mind, condemned

Very sensual piece of writing. Desire, lust, jealousy, all facets of the human condition in which we exist. Great work. ...and a lot of people do not realize some of the passionate themes that are in the bible.
I want to share something you might like: If you haven’t heard them, you should check out the (now disbanded) group G.O.L. (see also the Wiki entry ) , and particularly their song , Angelica in Delirium which uses some of the most sensuous excerpts from the Song of Solomon. Some of their lyrics are also taken from the works of Aldous Huxley. Hear also their songs Soma Holiday, Float, and No Bounds.
