Little Boys And Custard
MMM… Custard, one of my many weaknesses… ;-)
Anyway, the title actually refers to my adorable Grandson Gabriel, who I took care of during half term, with of course help from my delightful friend John. Gabriel absolutely adores John, as do I, as he has been a constant for quite a few years now… John has flown the country for a rest… I don’t blame him… I’d forgotten what hard work parenting young children can be…
THANKYOU JOHN! ;-)
We had such fun, and Gabriel is such a character, he had the most unlikeliest of people chatting away with him and us…
We took him to my favourite arboretum, where we enjoyed Autumn in all its’ glory, and had ourselves a slap-up Sunday lunch in the restaurant there… MMM… Delicious it was… As it was close to Halloween, I bought him a rubber skeleton which made a welcome change from Ben Ten in my opinion… He has great imagination…
We were heading to London Zoo through Regents Park, where we had a picnic and again enjoyed the fun and magic of Autumn… Fallen leaves, bold and cheeky squirrels and the sublime misty sunshine creating translucent colours in the trees… Unfortunately we didn’t have time for the zoo, so with a bit of creative negotiation we headed for the Natural History Museum…
Gabriel came out with a collection of wild animal masks, dinosaur sticker book and a dinosaur head on a stick (lethal weapon)...
I was surprised how accomodating he was at the change of plan, he didn’t make a fuss at all, and seemed to relish the idea of a ‘different zoo with dinosaurs’...
To top it all, he went home in a vampire outfit, which he wore on Halloween…
An absolutely wonderful week was had by all.
I then went back to work for a rest… And this is where the reference to custard comes in…
I have taken up residence at the Custard Factory in Birmingham, where I am renting a studio… It is quite a large one and it means I will be able to work large, which I couldn’t at home… I am so excited! It is a wonderful place, with amazing talented and friendly people all around… I look forward to making my mark… It even has its’ own theatre with open mike poetry… Well, what can I say… ;-)
I am preparing for an exhibition of my work, possibly during Global Entrepreneur Week… Watch this space! And I would love to see you there…
Much love & light
