concrete dust landscape underpass urban
Sensational – I love the strong mid-tones and feel of this image… especially the street signage and incidental elements of everyday life in the background. Great stuff Meanerthal – lovin’ your work!
thanks for all the great feedback paul…..i am drawn to places like this for my photography, underneath bridges and overpasses i find the kind of transitory spaces that town planners and architects expect us to move through as quickly as possible. when a space is empty it feels like it can begin to tell the viewer about it’s own history or narrative. most of my photos omit people for this very reason, when there is a person in a photograph we can’t help think about them first and the space only serves as a element in their story…. i like it when the space is the central character for a little while. glad you like my stuff…. i think we have some similar aesthetics…..
I’m not surprised Paul likes this shot, its a cracker, and it tonal range reminds me of some of Paul’s work as well. What I like about this shot is there are so many roads and path ways to chose from, yet all of them seem deserted. Which way should we go ? The choice is left entirely with the audience.
cheers craig….. i’m glad you were drawn to this image…. and thanks for the fav on crystalloids… the day i took this shot it was like 42 degrees…. i pretty much saw no-one else for the hour or so that i was riding around these overpasses…. i was addicted to these types of shots for a while…. and this is one of my favs.. thanks again for the feedback mate…. all the bestbyron
