My Road Traveled

By way of road replete with dust
I traveled here to follow dreams
A choice so made, although a must
This was my plan, by every means
Whereby I hoped that I would see
The open road meant just for me

Along the route, alone not me
For crowded was this dusty road
With many who had tried to see
If they could free their weighted load
Yet, on them were their heavy packs
Forever clinging to their backs

I tried to free and help those near
But, out of reach remained the lines
It seemed that this was their worst fear
But, never was a fear of mine
For my load’s gone, I carry not
He walks with me, carrying the lot

We all walk this road of life and we sometimes try to help each other, but on this road there is one that teaches us how to truly help ourselves. He has walked before us and still walks with us.
