I stand on this platform
As the 7:30 train approaches
My thoughts suddenly drifting
To another day, another moment

It was like yesterday
But truly so long ago
When I first saw you in that very spot
Waiting for the train
Reading that paper
Remaining elusive, but cognizant
Of the surroundings
You looked, noticed me
And how I was captured
By the innocence of an angel
I approached, stammering, nervous
Yet, you smiled and welcomed me
We spoke, we missed our train
We entered into a future
As tomorrows approached

Now, part of the past
I just left you but moments ago
Left the warmth of our home
Yet my mind, my dreams
Still remain there
I cannot wait to speak to you again
To smell you
To see your face as I walk through
The door this evening
But, at this moment
I just missed the 7:30 train
As it passed and left me
Standing alone on this platform
