This is why you should reconsider wandering through the tall bushes in berry season. Taken August 1 in Yellowstone’s Lamar valley. This was a very large black bear enjoying the season’s berry crop. Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA.

Marvelous photo! I like seeing these guys, but it’s nice to have a bit of distance between them and the camera!

  • Yep – long lens are worth the $ – if I was as close as this picture suggests I would probably got a more intimate acquaintance with this feller.

Hello, I have viewed your bear image a few times and came back and wanted to favorite it. I think he is cute and wondered what kind of berries he was eating? I live in the door of a National Park also here in Tennessee. A lot of people like the Black Bear.

  • Hello,
I did not get up close – but chokecherry is my best guess. Thanks for your favorite. It is great to be so near a national park – would love to see yours one day.

Adorable capture of this bear in the Lamar Valley area of Yellowstone National Park! I believe this is the same bear I captured in the same area in July. The missing chunk in the ear is exactly the same as the bear I captured! : )

  • Wouldn’t surprise me – they tend to hang in a favority vicinity. thanks for your comment.
