WHAT A WONDERFUL SHOT. I TOO LIKE THE DARKER BACKGROUND BUT I DON’T KNOW IF I LIKE IT BETTER – IT’S JUST DIFFERENT. WHAT I AM WONDERING IS IF I BOUGHT THE WRONG CAMERA??? I COULD NEVER GET ANYTHING THIS SHARP OUT OF MY LENES. I DON’T HAVE A 400MM TO COMPARE WITH BUT I HAVE A FEELING SOMEHOW I COULD NOT COME EVEN CLOSE TO YOUR WORK.

Thanks YJ, but if I can do this, anyone can. I don’t know what you have, but most SLR manufacturers make a similar quality line of lenses. My 400mm is a Canon L series which is their pro series lenses. I bought the 5.6 because it is not as heavy as the larger aperture lenses are and not as expensive. Being a little lighter it is easier to handhold and I have to handhold for my type of photography. It wasn’t cheap, but not too expensive either. I love that lens. If you have the proper equipment you would beat my socks off.
