Another from this evening’s sunset at Trigg Beach, Perth. I am really loving my new wide angle lens (Canon 10-22), and playing with the neutral density filters is really fun.
There are lots of discussions on the web about the different Cokin filter sets and how to use them with wide angle lenses. I’ve read how lots of folks say that due to vignetting, you can only use 1 filter in the filter holder when using the 10mm focal length. For anyone who’s interested, I seem to have rearranged the Z-Pro such that I can use at least 2 filters concurrently without serious vignetting. The main thing is that I took out the spacer between the main section of the holder and the first filter holder “plate”. This means that this gap can now be used to hold the first filter (previously due to the spacer it was too big to grip the filter and the filter would fall through). You just need to be a bit careful when inserting the first filter that you don’t scratch it against the poorly designed holder with its ridiculously placed logos which stick out etc. Anyway, more on this if anyone wants.
