When I comment on the greatness of B&W I usually talk of 5 aspects in my humble opinion : Shades, perspective, definition, exposure and framing.
All of that is here and more. If someone has the nerve to say B&W is ‘dead’ – then have a look at this shot and you’ll feel pretty stooooooooopid :o)
The film analogy for me is Bladerunner at J.F. Sebastian’s apartment
when the space ship flies overhead and the searchlight beams through the building – your photo brings me back to that film in a second.
