Spotswood Rail Yard - sunny day by MIchelle Thompson

Near where I live, is the Spotswood Rail Yard and this old building. It has been run down and state of disrepair for a number of decades.

I wonder how long it will stay with the increased push for extra housing in the area? It would be a pity to lose part of our history

Thank you, for your kind comments, Shirley. I love colour and seem to always push it beyond what is true in life.

I hate to see the classic architecture and history torn down for shiny new buildings, hopefully they can preserve it and use it for something else! Either way, you have found a beautiful way to preserve the memory with your art!

  • I hate to see what is happening here – we need to find a better way to preserve what we have. We have already lost many of the old rail sheds so that the government can put in extra shops.

Excellent work Michelle, love the rustic charm of the building and the vibrant colours!

  • Thank you again, cjcphotography. It will be a pity if we lose this building because it is really one of a kind in our neighborhood. I’m lucky that I got the chance to capture it before anything did happen.
