Two interesting points to remember…
1 ) As my originals sell more and more, the prices for my original artworks increases in value! This means that the framed print that you buy of my artwork will also gain in value!
2) I will be working every day at making this a certainty by continuing to create this art form that defines my artistic life!

The list of the The Twelve Apostles sitting with Jesus from left to right are:
Judas Iscariot
James (the greater)
Jesus Christ
James (the less)
Jude Thaddeus

I painted the halo of Jesus radiating out from his shadow, which falls also upon a crack in the wall which continues on up the wall and forms a cross, an indication of what is in the near future for our savior.

Cary drew in biro from the age of 4 until his first oil painting at the age of 16. With the strong foundation of the values of drawing when he began painting there was an explosion of bright colour in his art. The creative flood-gates had opened! Cary has won many Art Awards all over Australia, ranging from The Portland Art Prize and more recently the Bendemeer Art Prize (twice).
“With my art, I focus on the beauty of our environment and our effect we have upon the natural world.”

Absolutely beautiful work here, Gus. :)
I love Jesus and so this is very appealing to me. Also, great job
    with creating a soft light!

  • yes I love Jesus too!
I try and paint him as he was…not the classical romantic look…he is beautiful without all of that…the Light…I do live by fire light when I go out into the ‘Bush’…I wanted to create a room like the one they were in that night…and remember there will always be a seat at his table for you, me and us all…if we so choose! God Bless and thank you for your kind words…:-)

I forwarded this to a Pastor and here is the message I received back…

“Awesome, Lee-Anne. It’s interesting, while it is entitled “the Last Supper” (and, indeed, the bread and chalice are on the table), Christ is holding the water and the cloth for the washing of the disciples’ feet . . . combining both the Last Supper theme of the Synoptics (MT, MK, LK) with the foot washing theme of John. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything that quite conflates it all like that before. Thank you so very much!"

  • Lee-Anne Thanks for sending it onto the Pastor….back here in Brisbane …so far a Father (Anglican) and a Priest (Catholic) have viewed it in my presence before I uploaded it to RB…both men had a different interpretation of this scene…and now The Pastor has a different angle as well! well… I think that is so interesting…;-)
I think tonight I am going to include next to it the names of all…to save any…confusion….my intension was that the man holding the water was meant to be Peter…the bowl is for washing hands and faces before and after the meal. I will also point out about the shadow of Jesus on the wall and what is …hidden but unhidden symbolism regarding his shadow and his future…from that day. Today I started researching a painting of St Francis of Assisi..stay tunned…I will upload it probably…. Sunday.
    ..thanks again
