fabulous scene and painting. Your figures are wonderful and I really like angle you have chosen.

  • Thanks Bev, yaeh some young fellas were fishing one day as we were having a picnic by the beautiful Moreton Bay – so I memorized them and did a sketch study of this subject as soon as I got home…the rest was easy…

I have seen a few Australian Artist who tell the story so well you illustrate history and capture the feeling, In your works I can almost taste the sweat and the rich red dust, “Cheers to you!” I tips my hat in admiration.

  • Well thanks Ken! cheers and cold beers to you too! :o)
I love history especially Australian history in all of its dynamic twists and turns…don’t get me started on the ‘History Wars’
I’ll just stick to painting my stories and dreams, my oldest brother is an author (30 or so books, I think!) he is a writer of history (WWII, Vietnam, Korea etc) so will leave the words to him! anyway I think that painting is like writing with brushstrokes.
Thank you for your positive view of my work! :o)

It has the colors and feel of a Maxfield Parrish, one of my favorite artists. This is truly beautiful and so well done! Congrats on your features!

  • Thanks for the comparison with Parrish, he was a good painter I think I like his ‘Snow White’ the best. Ü
