Mount Burnett Observatory Inc. is a not-for-profit community powered astronomical society based at Mount Burnett in the Dandenong Ranges east of Melbourne.
The Observatory was originally built in 1972 by Monash University. In 2011 the site was formally taken over by our organisation and it now has a new life as a community observatory. Our aim is to preserve the facility and to use it to promote astronomy and science to the communities in and around the Dandenong Ranges.
Your purchases help maintain the observatory and support our astronomy and science outreach projects both at the observatory and in the wider community.
We run an active programme of events including public viewing nights which are open to all members of the public (booking essential) and our members and their guests have access to our weekly members nights and special interest groups.
