On the weekend I was lucky enough to go along and see the exhibition The Populous Cast at Global Gallery. What made it all the more exciting is I actually got to met a few redbubblers in the flesh.
The exhibition was wonderfully presented and the quality of the work was excellent.
One point I have to make is that I was quite familiar with the work presented at the exhibition. In particular the work of:
as they are all fantastic members of Painter’s in Modern Times!
They may say ‘familiarity breeds contempt’ but in this case seeing these works off the computer screen and in real life, in real size and with the textures and framing that comes together when exhibiting work, the results were breath taking.
I guess the moral of this story is that if you think the work looks great on the screen it will look much better hanging on your wall. Further more if you get the chance of exhibiting your work or going along to have a look at an exhibition you should really try to do so, the experience is so rewarding.
Unfortunately the show ended on Sunday but that doesn’t stop you from visiting these artist’s portfolios or looking at all the exhibitors (more redbubblers) at the group Populous Cast
Congratulations to all the artists involved!
