With every line I drew and with every area I shaded the dignity of this man, a WW1 Anzac veteran, flowed through me.
How proud he is to have represented our country and stood alongside other heros of our nation that never returned. It makes my eyes well up and my throat choke up.

They shall not grow old,
As we who are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning,
We will remember them.

Lest We Forget

The is one of the most moving and beautifu drawings I’ve ever seen. Can I ask how you achieved the sort of stippled texture in the hat and background?

  • That would be down to the texture of the paper, no magical drawing techniques I’m afraid.
