Ah! The chairiness of chairs. When I participated in the Art Teachers Conversion Course, through East Sydney Tech, in the late 60s / early 70s, one of the teachers / lecturers was so very keen on talking about THAT chairas the chairiness of chairs.
    Funny how these things stick!

Thanks for your comments. I always thought of this chair as being a bit of a self portrait of Vincent.

hi mbartworks, fanatastic lino cut! what a fab interpretation…i recall dabbling in printmaking mostly etching on zinc plates but lino cuts are tough…you’re a very talented gal:) colours are gorgeous too.

i went to the van gogh museum in amsterdam late last year (& as cliched as is may sound) i was blown away by all his paintings on several levels, seeing a huge collection of his work just damn amazing is all i can say…& his lesser known paintings are just divine too.

  • Ange

    Ange

...meant copper plates above (& who knows what other materials i etched on!) for printing…but yeah, great work.

Thanks Ange, I too went to the van Gogh museum in 2004. It’s amazing how profilic he was!
I think you’ll find that there are many, many surfaces you can etch onto.

Thank you very very much for your thoughtful comments.

I like this so much. Lately I’ve been seeing and reading a lot of artwork dedicated to Vincent here on the Bubble, and it’s so awesome because he’s one of my favorite painters. I think Vincent would have liked your piece. It’s a shame he doesn’t know how much his work is appreciated now.
