A quick drawing of Lillies with pastel pencils on black canson paper.

In spring time mother nature wakes up from the bleakness of winter.
Lambs frolic in the fields, flowers bloom and we humans start to walk with a spring in our step.
Through drawing these flowers I hope to embody the idea of spring. These blooms although predominantly white have a lovely flush of pink in their centres. The blossoming of these beauties symbolizes the changing of the season. I’m hoping that I have been able to capture the vibrant colours and energy that spring evokes.

Gee, this is a brilliant drawing, Marilyn. You did miracles with the light. The light on the lillies really seems to reflect from the flower leaves to my eye, as if can see the light travelling towards me. Love the depth you created in the flowers. I notice my eye wants to have a peek over the edge. Clever use of the black of the paper too. This would be a great work for the Blue Mountains exhibition … it would blend in so beautifully in this wonderful part of Planet Earth.
