Inspiration Born......

I was out and about today on the Red Bubble Prowl…and came across Mel Brackstones Portfolio .

Thru some conversation with her and some suggestions…I redid one of my pics RAW

The suggestion was to make it more abstract and to bring out some more detail in the eye. I love the results, and thank-you so much Mel for the conversation!!

    G’day Marny,

    Very impressive indeed m’gal!!!!!
The pose, composition and crop add greatly to the intensity of that most lovely eye – in itself a riveting focal point.
Very good processing all ‘round with well controlled highlights and a sweet tonal range.
A very inspiring photograph with good impact and more that a temptation to return.

Very nice! I love that eye; it’s a very effective focal point, especially with the other half of your face concealed. The different result is quite amazing.

  • Marny Barnes replied

    Thanks Mui-Ling!
It’s good to see you around here again!
    You have been missed!

A lot of people take a long absence as a break. My so-called “break” was school :P. I’m glad to be on co-op again!

I wonder if art is possible without mystery? Hmmm… certainly imagination doesn’t kick in without it. And without it, all you’ve got is craft. Since this image blasts me half way up a story arc before I’m even aware you’ve ignited my imagination… well you’ve got to be careful about where you point your power. Oh.. and only use it for good…. :-) Wonderful work, thanks for sharing Marny.

    Hey Marny
I like this shot,a very cool perspective….. But tell me my dear! what is the tattoo of on your sholder

  • Marny Barnes replied

    well my dear…
On my shoulder I have a “mischeif maker fairy” (found in the fairy books drawn by Brian Froud from Monty Python) Which is actually what my daughter looks like on the inside. I used ask her who made the mess when she was little and she always told me it was the bad fairy. (we didn’t have a not me we had a bad fairy.)lol

To this day she beleives that the fairy on my shoulder is the one I “saw” messing up her room.

I have a Celtic, tribal style butterfly on my lower back, and a cute baby dragon on my ribs.

You are the first to notice the tat on my shoulder I think. I actually blurred it a bit to make it stand out less.

  • TonyApple

    TonyApple

    Ah…But I have good eyes

  • Marny Barnes replied

    LOL
    That is obvious,
A – your pictures tell me just that/ Only good eyes woudl see what you see through your lens.
B – I can hardly notice that tat in this pic and it’s my tat!!

Feel free to use those good eyes and share any ideas/observations you have !!
