ROOT SCULPTURE IN A BURN - NR BROWNING, MT by

This was a serious forest fire. The trees will return, but we won’t notice if we don’t stop and look. Stand on this hill and look around you 360 degrees – you can see Glacier National Park, other mountains – even to the valleys – and all around you the skeletons of tall trees of all kinds for miles. I came upon this root lying in the deep green grass decorated with wildflowers.

Nature is healing her scorched earth and the birds, even in the chill and gloomy morning, were beginning to sing.

All will be well if we leave her to her task of growing new life.
