GRAIN ELEVATORS, RAPELGE, MT by

These grain elevators rise from the golden grass in this tiny prairie town.
It’s “Way Off” the beaten path. All I could think of when I saw them were the Easter Island Moai.

They are so big. You just can’t describe the feeling when you’re standing next to them. Guess because there’s no other point of reference…no trees. I’d love to live in one!

I just love photos of eastern Montana that include the “features” like these. Thank you so much for sharing this. When we go to eastern Montana to hunt antelope or visit our daughter and her family, I would like to stop a million times but Jack won’t let me. I need to take a two week trip and drive around taking photos. So beautiful. I will be following your work!

  • Thank you so much. I’m going back at the end of June. Taking in local festivities for 7/4, then to Glacier.
I hope you’ve seen Battle Butte. That’s a big hunk of real estate with an interesting story. I think I have a photo here on RB.
