Ziggy by May Lattanzio

Small (16.4" x 17.2")

Ziggy is the latest addition to the family. She is a shelter dog – an owner turn in and a return because she was “too much puppy”. She is a chewer, stubborn, a scrapper, and a keeper. She thinks cats are great, Maya the German Shepherd is her “mother” and Mickey, a very patient Boston gentleman is her personal slave to maul. He never stands his ground.

She is either a very poorly bred Basenji, or a Basenji cross. Her tail is a perfect zigzag, hence her name. Her eyes are called “marbled” and they are amazing.

She arrived anorexic from parasites and was carrying kennel cough which raged through the family and caused pneumonia in 3, of which we lost two of the elderly dogs.

The vet bills were horrendous. I was up around the clock tending to the sick ones.

This was taken in the first few days with my Sony W50.
