I saw this and said to myself how beautiful it would be cast in precious metal.

It’s a small cluster, barely an inch long. The fungus is a shelf fungus, fuzzy, pink and very pretty. I have the other side among my images.

This fungus seems to like oak branches.

The pink color facinates me May! This is a cluster of Split-gill fungi…Schizophylum commune. Usually is a grayish white in color…love the pink and agree with you completely…it WOULD make a gorgeous piece of jewelry and I’d definately wear it proudly :o)

I’m wondering if this fungi reacted to our unusually cold winter and turned pink. The whole thing was about 1-1/4 inch long. Very, very tiny.

O….just saw your reply……very likely the pink is a parasitizing fungus or even a type of algae? Not sure which just yet….will have to do some studies…try submitting to my other group ID Me ~ Nature Photos Only

You can kiss your family and friends good-bye and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in your heart, your mind, your stomach, because you do not just live in a world but a world lives in you.
So very beautiful art from your heart:)

Schizophyllum commune and I have Daniel Winkler of Puget Sound to thank for the identification. Check out his website.
