Found in my neighbor’s yard in Bayou George, FL.

They are a chanterelle type, but probably not edible. I’m waiting for an ID. They could be false chanterelles or Jack-o-Lanterns, and it’s better to be safe than sorry than eating a mushroom that is fatal.

Real, edible chanterelles are a delight to eat.

Not Chanterelles…….I think u’re idea of Jacks is closer? Do you know if they ‘bled’ white goo by chance?
Is there an Oak tree nearby?
Um…think of it this way…if they ARE Jacks and are eaten….there are very few records of anyone dying. Just living miserably for awhile. :o)

Almost as beautiful as a bouquet of flowers, May!
These look like the ones that I just posted today. They reminded me of homemade fried potato chips.

I really like this shot! I’m LOL @ Carla….don’t think I’d want to give them a try. Being desperately miserable doesn’t sound much better than dying!!
