August through late November is butterfly season in NW Florida.
Our beautiful American Ladies are migrants, and depend on the
white flowers of this roadside plant to supply the food necessary for those yearly migrations.

Unfortunately, because they are weeds, Bidens alba is mowed aggressively.

A wonderful Lady. Do you know where they come from? Those which visit Britain come from Africa and if conditions are right, we have an irruption year.
