Foxglove Beard-Tongue (Foxglove Penstemon) by

Also known as Penstemon digitalis, it belongs to the Figwort family.
This particular plant grows in a sand scrub field in Bayou George, Fl in the panhandle. It also grows in open woods, reaching a height of 2-4 feet. The inch long flowers here are pure white, but may also be tinted with purple.

It blooms in July and August and is native to the southeast.

I have seen it growing only in one field within three miles from my home. Northwest Florida in Bayou George.
