Mountain Laurel (Kalmia latifolia) by 


Grows along the creeks in northwest Florida and all through the southeast in hardwood forests. This shrub blooms at Pitt Spring, Southport, Florida. Commonly called Mountain-laurel or Spoonwood, it is a flowering plant in the family Ericaceae, and native to the eastern United States, from southern Maine south to northern Florida, and west to Indiana and Louisiana.

This particular shrub grows in the woodland overlooking Pitt Spring, Southport, FL.
