This ancient, silvering cypress snag is an old friend of mine. Full of holes, It is a veritable apartment house for woodpeckers and other birds who nest in cavities.
The morning I took this, I didn’t see the birds (crows) until I downloaded it.

Feathers are wet; flight is impaired. All is still.
