The evolution of love and planets by

Not long ago on a collision course through space were two distant planets – Each living and thriving
Unaware and unprepared that they would be colliding
On each life was about surviving
A lot less complicated for they didn’t know what was arriving
As epochs past and life became more advanced
Science matured them at first slowly then fast
As they were drawn closer they became more entranced
Curious about each other they flirted and they danced
As gravity drew them nearer their love grew stronger like the pull between them
Once ravaged by war the water planet for the first time felt a hope for freedom
On the other desolate red planet, slaves chained to an unloved past held love for the one that freed them

Then one day they both opened up their eyes
Stopping for a second, they began to realize
That the hope and energy they found in each other was also the source of their demise
But it was to late to avoid their fate by cutting off ties
For blind love pulled them to close to fight off lies
And to no one’s surprise
When they collided the pain was to much to bear that no one survived

Both of their cores broke into fragments
Tragic how a love so strong could turn so stagnant
Proof that something of so much beauty can destroy so much our minds can’t fathom it

There are only shards of blossoming planets left, no longer adrift with life, no longer left to coexist
They are not stars who collide emotionless, but through time each will find its place and once again coalesce

There is so much more here Shoaib than meets the eye – in both words and image. But then…that is always the case with you. “Both of their cores broke into fragments…” Yes, I too have felt drawn to write of dying stars and planets as a metaphor for doomed love. Incredibly powerful and poignant with an element of mystical fantasy in the image that lets one step away for a moment from the emotion your words evoke. Stunning. xoxox

  • :) that means so much from you lianne.. i think we are connect with our love for this metaphor and for the universe in general
thanks so much for feeling this one

Love, planets and quantum physics have always been among my favorite topics. Shoaib your image and words convey such intensity and depth – this has moved me way early in the day, and is bound to stay with me some while longer. Feeling such resonance through it all right at this point. xxx

  • ohhh those are all my fav topics too :) i think we could talk about those for a longgggg time and still not have the answers ! haha
