the dance

lightly
insistently
gentle sunfingers
tickle the frozen soil

teasing
coaxing
breathlessly smiling
until
hesitantly

a flower breaks through the soil

reaching
yearning
dancing
with the sun
intertwining
opening
opening

until…

the petals fall
____________in a whispered sigh

Love the feeling of the floatation of words as they describe the birth of a seed. So mellow, so sweet, so uplifting and danty as the cycle reaches the peak of breaking through the soil barrior. This is like a breath of fresh air, I tip my hat to you, even if my bald spots show, that’s how good this was.

  • you gave me a huge smile, Oscar!! thank you so much for your words

oh i love the double edges of this…such a lovely concept to describe a flower’s bloom as a dance…also a pretty insightful metaphor for human life and self discovery
