Lake Aviemore – New Zealand – South Island

Lake Aviemore is between Omarama and Kurow in New Zealands South Island. It is a man made lake, part of the Waitaki hydroelectric scheme. The scenery surrounding the lake is nothing short of breathtaking. Beautiful snow capped mountains on one side of the lake and fields of long frost burnt grass on the other. I layed in the grass from where i took this image, and completely dissappreared. It’s sometimes the small things in life that leave lasting impressions, and laying in waste high grass on the side of a hill with not another soul around was so peaceful, and an everlasting memory.

Stunning work as always mate, a great keepsake of a wonderful memory by the sounds of it!

  • Thank you Simone. I did create a wonderful new memory that day, by re-creating old memories from when i was a kid running around in paddocks. Ahhh the good old days …. lol
