Glenapp – South of Rathdowney – Queensland – Australia
Canon 5D Mk II – Canon EF 17-40 F4L Lens
This was taken on the 19th May 2012 out at an old railway hut called Glenapp. It is located south of Rathdowney, and is owned by QLD Rail. Unfortunately it is private land, and therefore unaccesible, however i was lucky enough to get an invite out to the station by a couple of brothers that volunteer their time and resources every weekend to maintaining the old station hut and surrounding landscape. The station hut and tracks would make an awesome star trail location.
This is the surrounding farmland, these cows stalked me the entire length of the paddock, at one stage getting a little aggressive. lol … i locked myself in a seperate paddock, and the buggers pushed the gate open and continued their path of terror towards me. But they were just curious, and once they sussed me out they went about grazing and posing in my shots.
So, importantly here. This is my first attempt at photographing fog and capturing the warmth of light on an otherwise very chilly morning. I like the result here. And it was also the very first shots taken on my new baby, the Canon 5D Mk II. Took a bit of adjusting from the 450d, but i am so excited about this camera and future images.
Hope you like this image.
