I get asked quite a few lighting questions on RB from up and coming togs…this is a set-up with just one light set high above Gabriel at 45 degrees with a 15 degree honeycomb grid. This directs the light and stops to much spill. As the light was only about a couple of metres away I dropped it down to give a meter reading of f5.6 as I was going to focus on the plane of his face and hands.
Whilst I was taking this image with my Bowens Quadmatic (bought in 1991)…I realised that the lights I was using were as old as Gabriel….and it is still my most powerful light at 1500w.
