A fellow photographer friend of mine collects old cameras and when I went to visit him the other day he asked if I could include a couple of his old cameras in my images of beautiful ladies. He said that he would put a framed print up in his shop on the High Street. (so no nudes)…I did have a shoot today with the lovely Ivy Grant an experienced Russian model…and here’s one of the results.

He reckons the camera is a very early Eastman Kodak from the turn of the last century…so I did a bit of research…and found this on google.

The No. 3A Folding Pocket Kodak was a folding bed camera for making exposures in 3¼×5½ inch postcard format on type No. 122 rollfilm. It was introduced by Eastman Kodak in 1903 and made until 1915. Early variants were very expensive and had for example a combination of Kodak Automatic shutter and Rapid Rectilinear lens of Bausch & Lomb. It has apetures from f6.8 up to f64 and shutter speeds B, 1sec to 1/100.

A plaque on the camera says it was purchased at City and Sales Exchange, Sloane Square, London

This was however taken on the Studio Canon 1DS: 1/200, ISO 100, f11, lens at 80mm
