Home Alone 2
I don’t do many pure black and whites…so I thought I would give it a go…does any techy tog out there know how many ways there are in Photoshop to produce a Black and White image…I can think of quite a few!
This one uses the old channel mix method 60/40…seems to hold all the tones…especially when printed 16 bit!

don’t know much about the PS stuff, but I do know this is one nice shot….big fan of the BW . off the check out the rest now
Maxoperandi replied
From your own portfolio…you look like you know exactly what you’re doing re the PS stuff!
jgolder
actually 99% of my “editing” (if you want to call it that) is done on microsoft office picture manager. the other 1% I screw up with PS
Maxoperandi replied
Well picture manager seems to do it for you and your great images!
jgolder
thanks…that truly means a lot!
Troy Spencer
I think the model is the one holding the tone, if you know what I mean. Nice tummy, and lovely sheen in the breast. Love the shirt, tilt of the head, headboard of the bed and the sheer drapes. Gosh, guess I like it all. How unusual…
Maxoperandi replied
Many thanks Troy..I appreciate your comments
Ken Thomas
Superb portrait…very elegant!!
Maxoperandi replied
If it had been taken with a Fuji S100fs…then it might have been perfect!

What a wondeful pose, great portrait Max. Haven’t done too much black & white yet, the only techniques that i know of are: Adding a black & white layer and using those different colored filters, adding a hue/saturation layer, or maybe a curves layer.
Maxoperandi replied
You should try some of the other techniques…I think the best to try first is image/adjustments/channel mixing…click the mono butom and then try 60 red/40 green…all will work as long as numbers add up to 100

This is a classic shot, Max. Model is stunning, pose is brilliant and the set is just perfect…...

Ken Thomas
So, do you shoot with Fuji Digital??
Maxoperandi replied
No Ken I am a Canon man…although I have worked on many Fuji images for other photographers…I have always been impressed with the clarity of the images. I do however use Fuji papers and my main scanner is a huge Fuji Finescan flatbed.
Paul (Quixote)...
Terriific shot. Still home alone. I could bake a cake, cook a meal and offer a massage. I could be so helpful . :P
Maxoperandi replied
I am sure she would love your cooking skills…and also the massage…I’ll ask her when she is in next.
