You have a great camera by the looks of things, Max….wonderfully clear rendition of the scaly skin. Now I’m not a fan of all things reptilian…but come on now, Roy LOL !!!! He looks pretty harmless…mind you…3 metres long is a pretty big lizard…I think I’d run a mile if I saw it heading my way.

They spook me a bit too. However, he looks pretty docile to me.
This is a great shot Max. The detail is just great. How close were you?
Maximus in reply to GailD’s comment, about 1 month ago
Gail I was about a foot away in the old money. :)
Maximus in reply to Chris Willis’s comment, about 1 month ago
Hey Chris, I once got caught in the middle of a fight between two goannas, one was little about 4 feet while the other was an imposing 8 feet. I was fishing of a rock ledge about 18 inches wide with a sheer drop of about 10 metres into the drink and a mountain behind me… nowhere to run, so I kicked the big one, he feel onto the rocks below, the little one took off, I went for a beer. :)

What a picture that conjured up, Max….I can see little puffs of smoke at your heals as you made for home and the beer….blow the fishin’ :-)

Oh, Max (in response to your fishing story to Chris) I love it!!! I’m a big fan of lizards and such…at one time, I owned a savannah monitor that no one but me could gather up like a babe and cuddle…and I had a Red tailed boa…gave her away to a friend who still has her when my gdaughter was born..just in case….
Maximus in reply to GINGER BARRITT’s comment, about 1 month ago
I’ve wanted a pet snake for years, but she who must be obeyed says no… :)
GINGER BARRITT, about 1 month ago
I’m so sorry….they make the sweetest pets…they hug you….they don’t whine and cry….poop is contained in a nice cage….what’s not to love!!!
Maximus in reply to GINGER BARRITT’s comment, about 1 month ago
I agree, I had two eastern longneck turtles.. so cute & funny. Maybe one day. Over here you have to get a gov. issued license. :)
