Crowing Frog

Today I heard the most unusual thing that I would like to share with you.
It was a beautiful day and I was sitting outside having a coffee and doing the crossword. The chooks were scratching in the garden around me, keeping me company and perhaps waiting for a crumb to fall. I wasn’t taking much notice of the cockle-doodle-doo-ing noise until I heard another softer but similar sound and I pricked up my ears. Sure enough, each time the rooster crowed, there was an answer from the garden nearby. I have a frog living in the potplants and I hear it singing ocassionally when it rains or calling to its mates at night. This rooster frog communication lasted for about five minutes and you can imagine how I sat there spellbound. As soon as the crowing stopped, so did the croaking.
