This was first supposed to become Helios…but then I realised I was drawing Sol Invictus.
His name means Unconquered Sun and he’s a Roman god who first went by the name of Sol.
The epithet invictus meaning unconquered was commonly given to Sol from the 2nd century AD onwards.
Just like the sun, he illuminates and lights all things – even those we’d rather like to keep hidden from ourselves and others; things we prefer not to look at.
Thus he can help us to accept repressed feelings, experiences etc. and lights them with his shining light. Where there is pain now, soon will be golden and radiating light.
