Image taken at Blairgowrie Pier of this amazing creature which is a master of mimicry.This is the first one I have seen & the species is a much sought after subject by local photographers.This one was approx 25cm long.They use a U shaped lure on top of their heads to seduce prey

    oh my god is he awesome! look at those details……..his spines remind me of the honeydew plants with the drops of sticky dew to attract insects…..what a splendid creature

    Well done finding one Matt, the first one is the hardest they say but I’m still not sure about that. I recognize that specimen, I said hello to it yesterday.

    Ah of course now I know D70S in Nexus. LOL, I was the one with a single strobe on D90 nexus. I was hanging around the Tangler at one stage waiting for your buddy to move on, (he he) and even pointed out a Velvetfish to divert her. Didn’t work though as she spotted the Tangler moments after and then pretended she didn’t she it too, LOL!
