Great photograph, I much prefer taking photographs of people when they don’t know it. Many people think they have to pose to look their best but often they look most beautiful when they are natural. I love the tones you’ve given this too.

  • Matt Sillence replied

I agree Erin… natural and not posed is the best…she is quite a beauty too… thanks for the comment and the time you have taken to look through my stuff.

i have to agree Matt not knowing they are being photographed is the only way to truly capture how they are feeling and what they are thinking. the next best thing is a setting in which they are comfortable and their personalities immerge… just my two cents lol. well done this is a beautiful candid

  • Christopher B.

    Christopher B.

I would love to be able to do more candid photography. Unfortunately my hulking 1ds Mark II with a 35-350mm zoom lens doesn’t really allow this to happen. =/ I think I need to invest in a Leica for street photography or something. Regardless, this is a wonderful photograph. I love the muted tones, both in color and her expression. Excellent work Matt!

  • Matt Sillence replied

well than u Christopher, I too this with a 50-500mm sigma (bigma), at a distance mind but never the less heavy also.
Cheers for your great comment, appreciate it

  • Lauri7

    Lauri7

Candid photography is what I’m most fascinated about myself and I would love to explore this area further. It’s incredible the stories people can reveal behind their masks! Do you know what I mean?

  • Matt Sillence replied

Oh I do know what you mean, have a look at one of my others and u can see lots of things in it.

  • Lauri7

    Lauri7
