The Curse

Throughout these new enlightened days
While some it seems have changed their ways
There still remains a sordid curse
Which drives us mad or even worse
Upon the negative It feeds
And acts as though our inner needs
Are quite beyond ourselves to know
A way that it alone can show
If truth be known it self deludes
And from its slimy self exudes
The nature of a bug or roach
And smarmy “I know best” approach
And though opaque to many eyes
Its self righteous approach belies
The truth as seen by those who look
That many liberties it took
And those who fell along the way
(A price that someone else must pay)
Are cannon fodder to this curse
I like to think it won’t get worse.

Artist's Description

Darker than my usual offerings, on the nature of pessimism, questions but no real answers…

I wonder why we’re all so different when essentially we’re all the same? Is the glass half full or half empty? Why do some of us succumb to the self destructive force of pessimism, yet others seem to remain optimistic in the face of adversity?… it’s got me stuffed :( :)
